Do so by opening the red Adobe Reader app with the stylized, white A icon. Then click on File in the menu bar at the top of the screen, click on Open., select the PDF document you want to type on and click on Open.

Installing Adobe Reader X is a two-step process. First you download the installation package, and then you install Reader from that package file. You do not have to remove the older version of Reader before installing Reader X.

Print these instructions. Once you click the Downloads link in the next step, the Adobe.com web page replaces these instructions.

On the Downloads page, click Download Now.
Note: You need Mac OS 10.5.8 or later to run Reader 10.1. If your operating system doesn't support Reader 10.1, click the link 'Do you have a different language or operating system?' and choose an earlier version of Reader.


When asked whether to open or save the .dmg file, select Save File, and then click OK.
Important: If you do not see this dialog box, another window could be blocking it. Try moving any other windows out of the way.



Double-click the .dmg file. If you don't see the Downloads window, choose Tools > Downloads.

If the download package doesn't appear in the Downloads window and a Thank You screen remains visible, click the download link on the Thank You screen.

Double-click the Adobe Reader X Installer.pkg to start the installation.

If a dialog box appears telling you to quit Reader, close Reader, and then click OK.

When the Install Adobe Reader X dialog box appears, click Continue. Follow the onscreen instructions to install Reader X.

Print these instructions. Once you click the Downloads link in the next step, the Adobe.com web page replaces these instructions.

On the Downloads page, click Download Now.

What else are you going to use?

Regardless of which platform I am, using Adobe Acrobat, is the only reading app I turn to for .pdf documents. It is always efficient, effective and up to date. On the iPad who blends in well with the way I work and I am always pleased to be able to email stuff to my iCloud account and then send attached ?pdf's to Acrobat, where I can continue to access them long after the email has been deleted.
Then when I've finished with the document, a quick flick to the left gives me the option to delete it.
Brilliant!

All I need for my PDF’s

This is a brilliant app for storing my PDF’s. I made the switch from iBooks when iBooks kept offloading my files to the cloud and the whole point of saving files to my phone was to read them offline. With this app I can do all that in one place without worrying that an important PDF has been offloaded to the cloud without telling me. Now thanks to this app my files are always there when I need them.

Less intuitive controls / visuals

Adobe Reader Download

Latest update has removed a lot of the speedy functionality of the previous version. No swiping on an item to move, rename, delete etc. Can’t find how to transfer files via Bluetooth within the app any more. Can’t delete the “Welcome” pdf. Each file seems to use a lot more height, so less files visible on screen at a time. It still opens PDFs.
Update: trying to change directions while scrolling and stopping scrolling both have significantly delayed response times, I assume because of the way they make the top bar appear or disappear depending on the direction you scroll. Frustrating.
